A Confused Newborn

PODCAST PREMIERE: Oct. 16, 2026

Stefan Kuhlmann was a voice. For years. Every day. In Berlin, behind the microphone, close to people who heard him over breakfast, in the car, on the way to work – without ever knowing him personally.

And then something collapsed.

Burnout, depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts – Stefan experienced a crisis that took him to the very bottom. And he found a way back. One he never could have imagined.

Today Stefan is a childcare worker. He accompanies children. He listens – in a completely different way than before.

In this conversation Stefan talks about what it was like to be on air every day while slowly going silent inside. What kept him going. And what it means to start over.

A conversation about exhaustion, courage and the question of what remains when you let everything go.

Note: This episode deals with burnout, depression, self-harm, and suicide. Some passages may be distressing. Please take care of yourself while listening.
